| PROJECT NAME: | Vectorial® bus platforms for the new M15 bus line. |
| DATE: | January 2026. |
The Barcelona Metropolitan Area (AMB), in collaboration with the City Council of L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, has launched the new M15 Metrobús line, designed to provide faster, more comfortable, and safer mobility among L’Hospitalet de Llobregat, Cornellà, and Barcelona. This initiative has also included improvements to the routes and service frequencies of other key bus lines, strengthening the metropolitan public transport network and adapting it to the growing demand for interurban travel.
Project needs and objectives
The City Council of L’Hospitalet de Llobregat and the Barcelona Metropolitan Area identified the need to introduce a new bus line capable of meeting the increasing demand for public transport along the Barcelona–L’Hospitalet–Cornellà corridor. The main objective of this new service was to reduce waiting times and shorten daily journey times for passengers.
The project also aimed to:
- Improve accessibility and safety at the new bus stops.
- Maintain the continuity of the cycle lane while ensuring safe coexistence between cyclists, personal mobility vehicle (PMV) users, and bus users.
Overall, the goal was to create protected and safe waiting areas for public transport users.

Proposed solution
To meet these objectives, the City Council of L’Hospitalet de Llobregat and the AMB chose to install Vectorial® bus platforms at six bus stops, using specific configurations to maximize passengers’ safety and comfort.
Direction: Cornellà (3 platforms)
- Bus platform as an extension of the sidewalk: improves bus stop accessibility and facilitates safer and more efficient boarding and alighting.
Direction: Barcelona (3 platforms)
- 2 bus platforms with access bridge and integrated cycle path: allow cyclists and PMV users to ride behind the bus stop, reducing conflicts and creating safe waiting areas for bus users.
- 1 bus platform with integrated cycle lane: allows bike lane users to safely cross the passenger boarding area when there are no buses at the stop, although bus users will have priority.

All bus platforms are equipped with Pointer®Flex vertical delineators, which clearly indicate the beginning and end of each platform, as well as changes in level, enhancing safety for pedestrians, cyclists, and PMV users. They also discourage motorized vehicles from driving onto the platforms, helping to extend their useful life.
