At ZICLA, we work to create safe, accessible, inclusive and sustainable cities, where the waste they generate returns to them in the form of products that provide solutions to their challenges.

We are a company committed to people, the circular economy, and the environment.

ZICLA was founded in 2005 in Barcelona. Its original aim was to promote the large-scale use of recycled materials and products and to find alternatives to traditional waste management solutions. In 2008, we started investing in R+D+i to develop and manufacture our own products with recycled and recyclable materials for use in cities. The intention was to offer cities solutions to make cycle mobility safer and access to buses easier, safer and more efficient at bus stops.

The fundamental aspects that guide our activities are the ecodesign, the changing needs of the city, the needs of the end user of our solutions, the context in which our products must perform, and the environment.

That is why, as part of our work, we commit to the following points, which differentiate ZICLA as a company:

1

We develop and ecodesign modular, recycled, reusable, and recyclable products with a low environmental footprint.

2

We focus on reversibility. We view cities as dynamic and ever evolving, that is why our products are designed to be used in reversible solutions. Once they have fulfilled their function, they can be dismantled and reinstalled elsewhere to meet changing needs.

3

We manufacture our products with post-consumer and post-industrial plastic waste. At the same time, we conduct R+D+i for the use of new recycled materials in the fabrication of our products to find a balance between the performance of these materials in the urban context (climate, weather, traffic, dirt, etc.), the user experience, and the minimum environmental footprint.

4

We accompany cities in the successful implementation of our products to create safe, accessible, and inclusive streets in a reversible, quick, and economical way.*

5

We consider the needs of all road users to create complete streets. Therefore, we collaborate with relevant associations and institutions that represent these interest groups and they play an important role in the design process of our street safety solutions and their continuous improvement.

* Our proposed solutions, configurations, and customizations help experts in the cities or organizations that purchase our products to make their decisions, but they are purely consultative. Under no circumstances can they be considered construction documents. The experts from these cities or companies are solely responsible for adopting the final solutions, configurations or customizations and ensuring that these comply with the town planning, traffic, safety, or any other applicable regulations in force at all times in each location.

We are a company committed to safe and sustainable mobility, accessibility and the environment.
