However, there was a lack of inner-city protected bike lanes that could connect the major public services with residential, commercial and industrial areas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In 2018, the city officials decided to create a new infrastructure of protected bike lanes inside the city in the framework of a set of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.street-plans.com\/tactical-urbanism-projects\/bike-nwa-northwest-arkansas-month-long-pilot-project-bella-vista-rogers-bentonville-ar\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tactical Urbanism Projects<\/a>. For the purpose of increasing the safety of this new infrastructure, they considered the installation of bike lane separators as an essential element of the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">The proposed solution.<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image alignleft\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" src=\"https:\/\/www.zicla.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/02\/200228_Zebra-13-cycle-lane-separator.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-17672\" title=\"\"><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The city of Bentonville created a pilot project to connect the city\u2019s Public Library with Downtown via a combination of two-way protected and shared use lanes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For the creation of the buffer space of the two-way protected bike lanes, the city of Bentonville has relied on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.zicla.com\/en\/zebra-family\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Zebra\u00ae 13<\/a> cycle lane separators, which offer a great performance on high-traffic areas, such as the ones in which it has been installed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>PROJECT NAME: Downtown protected cycle lane network.
