ZICLA has recently joined the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition<\/strong><\/a>. As part of its social responsibility commitment, Zicla gives support to organizations which promote transformation of cities\u2019 streets and neighborhoods into more livable and safe places by promoting the bicycle for everyday.<\/p>\n The San Francisco Bicycle Coalition is one of the oldest bicycle advocacy organizations in the United States. It was founded in 1971 by a group of activists representing a coalition of environmental and neighbourhood groups. It quickly evolved into a powerful alliance of individuals working for a more bicycle-friendly city. The SF Bicycle Coalition has been dominated by a grassroots volunteer ethic ever since, growing into one of the strongest bicycle advocacy organizations in this country.<\/p>\n San Francisco Bicycle<\/strong> Coalition performs <\/strong>several activities:<\/p>\n Community Bike Builds are a great model of a cooperative, community-driven collaboration. They reclaim unclaimed and abandoned bikes from various San Francisco public agencies, repair them with the help of their volunteers, and distribute these to low-income residents in need of affordable transportation.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n From spot improvements to protected bikeways, the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition is working hard to improve citizens\u2019 commute.<\/p>\n The SF Bicycle Coalition is the leading resource for street safety in San Francisco. They reach tens of thousands of people every year with free bicycle education classes and resources.
