The aim of the project was to eco-design, develop and manufacture for ZICLA a cycle lane separator with no sharp edges. It needed to be highly visible with great resistance to compression, impacts and bad weather. It also had to be manufactured in a recycled material that was, itself, recyclable.
Zebra® separator: eco-design.
Curro Claret was commissioned to design the separator and ZICLA carried out the engineering development and looked for the appropriate material and the best possible manufacturing technology.
The result was a lightweight cycle lane separator without sharp edges and with great resistance to compression, impacts and bad weather. Its reflective stripes ensure high visibility in the daytime and at night. It is manufactured by injection moulding and the material used is recycled PVC from waste electric cables, advertising banners, hoses, etc.
