Plates and boards derived from waste from the automotive industry.

The automobile industry generates large quantities of mixed waste consisting of synthetic fibers, foams, and synthetic rubbers derived from the manufacture of dashboards, acoustic insulation, boards, etc. These residues, mostly end up in landfills. However, they can be transformed by a simple technology in rigid boards with several applications in diverse sectors.

The waste consists of a mixture of synthetic fibers, foams, and synthetic rubbers of very good quality that incorporate flame retardant properties, which make it especially suitable for developing products for the construction sector, where this property as well as the durability and the resistance to weathering are highly valued.

The technology.

The technology used is very simple and consists of the following steps:

  • Waste Shredding .
  • Mixed with a small amount of agglomerate resin.
  • Pressed in a hot plates press machine.
  • Extraction of boards and cooling.

The product.

The product is a range of 2 x 1 m rigid boards with different thicknesses that can be used as:

  • Scaffolds, folding screens, and mats
  • Road´s Acoustic panels.
