Cycle lanes: ZICLA at the National Bike Summit 2017.

ZICLA was one of the sponsors of the National Bike Summit 2017 which was held in March 6-9, 2017 in Washington D.C. This Summit was the premier bike advocacy event of the year, uniting the voices of bicyclists. This inspiring event builds bikers’ movement for 2017 and beyond. Focus was on regional planning, national and local messaging, and the road map of working together in advancing the bicycling movement.

Why has ZICLA sponsored the National Bike Summit 2017?

In ZICLA, we work to turn cities into safer, more accessible, more welcoming places for people. We are guided by our desire to improve the environment and to do so, we develop and manufacture competitive, quality recycled and recyclable products which offer solutions for cycle lanes and safer cycle lanes mean more cyclers. Our solutions for the cities are included at the Transit Street Design Guide of NACTO.

The League of American Byciclists.

The League was founded as the League of American Wheelmen in 1880. Bicyclists, known then as “wheelmen,” were challenged by rutted roads of gravel and dirt and faced antagonism from horsemen, wagon drivers, and pedestrians. The League draws on a unique history and depth of knowledge and also has a commitment to propel the new, diverse and growing ranks of bicyclists in the United States, recognizing and representing the current and future face of the cycling movement.

The League represents bicyclists in the movement to create safer roads, stronger communities, and a bicycle-friendly America. Through information, advocacy and promotion, the League works to celebrate and preserve the freedom cycling brings to their members everywhere.

Missions’ League.

The mission of the League is to lead the movement to create a Bicycle Friendly America for everyone. As leaders, their commitment is to listen and learn, define standards and share best practices to engage diverse communities and build a powerful, unified voice for change.
